Following is a summary of important changes for the 2012-2013 school year to both the FAITH Center program and our website for Sparta.
1. A downloadable, linked schedule. It is in PDF format so you will be able to save it to your computer and print it out. However, the schedule is designed to be viewed on the computer where you will be able to enlarge the size of the file to make it more readable. Each class block has a hyperlink. When you click on a specific class block you will automatically be taken to the course description for that class on the www.Faith-Center.com website. That will make it easier to see which classes work best for you.
2. "Nuts and Bolts" section. In the Nuts and Bolts section you will find information to make our time together profitable, Yearly calendars, Registration information, Guidelines, Classroom expectations, etc. Take a look at the Nuts and Bolts section. There is a link for it in the bottom right corner of the home page on www.Faith-Center.com
3. Calendar. The website calendar on the home page has all the important FAITH Center class dates, skill days, and performances on it for both Sparta and Randolph.
4. Guitar Ensemble. There is a new guitar class called Guitar Ensemble. All guitar students should be registered for an ensemble as well as their regular guitar class. Please check the course description for further information.
5. Faith Center Features will continue this year. See the Performance pull-down.
6. Spring Musical. This year we will be working towards a spring musical, please note the audition dates and the additional rehearsals that are listed on the calendar.
7. Tuition information is posted in Nuts and Bolts on the website.
8. Course Objectives. The course objectives for Piano Lab, Dance Class, and Choirs, are now available in the Nuts and Bolts section on the website.
9. Course Name Changes. SWP is now called Symphonic Ensemble. Our string classes are now called Scherzo, Minuet, Rondeau, and Sonata.
10. Symphonic Orchestra. FAITH Center Sparta now has the Symphonic Orchestra for string players with at least 1 year playing experience.
11. Choir Age Changes. The ages for the Choirs have changed. We have added a middle Choir to the schedule. Please read the class description carefully. Childrens Choir ages 6-8. Concert Choir is now ages 9-12 and CODA Choir is for ages 13 and up.
12. Computer Animation Class. We are offering a Computer Animation class. See course listings under Computer Art.
13. Video Production/Event Capture Seminar .We will be offering a 6 week class in capturing video in both the Fall and Spring semesters. Location: Sparta: Thursday 3:30-5:00pm. See Sparta Course description and listings under Computer Art. Separate Course Fee applies. Students who qualify are welcome from all campuses.
14. Family Service. There are new family service opportunities. Please check out the new opportunities under the Nuts and Bolts section on the website. We specifically need volunteers for two new positions:
15. Outside Concert Coordinator. This person would coordinate performance venues for our students that are offsite.
16. Drama/Musical Theater Administrative Assistant would assist our drama teachers in preparation for musical and theatrical productions. This service position would require two people
17. Heart of the Artist Worship Event. FAITH Center will be scheduling a Heart of the Artist Worship Event. More details to follow.
18. FAITH Center Feasts. FAITH Center Feasts is a new idea for us. At certain times throughout the year lunch will be provided for our faith center family. We will need someone(s) to organize these events. More details to follow.
19. After School Program. Faith Center Sparta has begun an afterschool arts program for students from other schools and the community to participate in. See After School Arts Program in course descriptions.
20. Music Together. FAITH Center Sparta piloted the Music Together Program for our students birth-age 5 last year. We will be adding this class to our Wednesday schedule for the Fall. See Class description on website.
